We are looking to expand our Orthopaedic Hand Surgery service. As a Consultant Hand Surgeon you will be a highly valued member of our team bringing your expertise and skills to our elective surgical unit.

As a Practice Plus Group Consultant you will have access to great facilities in a well-structured and relaxed environment. We offer high quality day case and inpatient treatment in a wide range of specialties, delivering excellent clinical care. You will be joining a team committed to delivering the highest standards in patient care.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide a high standard of specialist diagnosis, treatment and care to patients with hand surgical conditions as required by the case mix agreed for Practice Plus Group Hospital Birmingham with the commissioning ICB.
  • Provide advice and assessment of patients as requested by the nursing staff during routine working hours.
  • Perform orthopaedic surgical procedures on patients referred to the hospital, working in accordance with hospital protocols and working practices.
  • Ensure the patient’s treatment is of the highest standard whether NHS or privately funded.
  • Work with the Practice Plus Group team to help you grow in your role and take your career in the direction you want to go.

What we'll look for in you

  • Extensive experience offering expert clinical opinion and surgical skills on a range of orthopaedic hand problems.
  • Passion for patient focused care.
  • Approachable manner.
  • Willingness and ability to offer an exemplary level of patient care.
  • Being a UK registered medical professional, with a listing on the GMC Specialist Register.
