LCP is an award-winning actuarial and analytics consultancy providing market-leading capabilities and advice across pensions and financial services, energy, health, and analytics. We use powerful analytics fused with human expertise to shape a more positive future.
We have an exciting opportunity to join LCP as a Consultant in our Data Services Team. Our Data Services team is rapidly expanding, as we increase our offering to clients, particularly in the de-risking space. To facilitate this growth, we are recruiting individuals with a knowledge of Defined Benefit pensions for client facing, technical roles, to bolster our existing team. Everyone in the team has their own client mix, meaning that everyone works with lots of different people from across Data Services and wider LCP to advise a range of different clients, whether they be existing ongoing clients or standalone projects. This means that the client work is varied and interesting, and there are always new opportunities to learn from others.
What will you be doing?
You will be involved in a wide variety of strategic data projects, including:
- Advising clients on data risks and supporting the development of scheme-level data strategies
- Reviewing data readiness for endgame strategies including run-on and buy-ins and buy-out
- Undertaking complex benefit rectification projects, such as GMP rectification, equalisation and Barber window exercises
- Undertaking data cleanse projects for schemes, including benefit tranching and reconstruction
- Reviewing data to support member communication exercises or benefit changes
You’ll collaborate closely with LCP’s actuarial, administration and pension risk transfer teams, while also helping shape internal project methodologies and developing the next generation of tools and approaches.
We are seeking actuaries who are enthusiastic about working on dynamic and fast-paced projects. You will utilise your technical expertise to create and execute solutions, as well as provide advisory services to our clients. As part of your responsibilities, you will collaborate closely with Data Services management and other key stakeholders in LCP's wider business. There will be opportunities to attend client meetings to help develop consulting skills, whether that be presenting results, providing project updates or advising on methodology.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
