Job Opportunity
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday with weekend and on call/overnight work pattern.
We are seeking applications for the position of General Internal Medicine and Rheumatology Consultant to join our multidisciplinary team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI) and Stobhill Ambulatory Care Hospital (SACH).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality consultant care in both in-patient and out-patient settings.
- Acute medical receiving.
- Participating in the medical specialties’ consultant on-call rota.
- Providing weekend ward cover.
- Leading sub-specialty outpatient clinics, focusing on complex rheumatological conditions.
- Supporting our innovative virtual service for patients with connective tissue diseases.
This role offers the chance to contribute to a modern, consultant-led service within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHS GGC), one of the UK’s largest and most progressive Health Boards. You will work alongside specialist colleagues in a dynamic environment, helping to shape the future of rheumatology care and patient pathways across our region.

Requirements
- Hold full GMC registration and a licence to practise.
- UK-trained candidates should provide evidence of training leading to CCT or CESR eligibility or be within six months of their expected completion date at the time of interview.
- Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
- A valid driving licence is preferred.
