Remote | Flexible hours | Self-employed consultant | Work stream available

We’re growing our team and looking for an experienced Private Client Lawyer to join us on a self-employed consultant basis.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants the flexibility and autonomy of working for themselves, without having to build a client base from scratch.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be a qualified:

  • Solicitor
  • CILEX professional
  • Probate Practitioner

With experience in private client work and a genuine interest in providing a high-quality, personal service to clients.

You should be comfortable managing your own caseload and working independently, while being part of a supportive and growing team.

The work

There is an established work stream available, so this isn't a role where you'll simply be handed a laptop and told to go and find your own clients.

The work is likely to include areas such as:

  • Wills
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Estate planning
  • Trusts and related private client matters

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Armed Forces connection

An understanding of military life would be an advantage, whether that comes through your own experience, a partner, family member or close connection to the Armed Forces.

You don't need to have worked specifically in the military legal sector. What matters is understanding that military families can have circumstances that don't always fit neatly into a standard client journey.

Postings. Deployments. BFPO addresses. Multiple moves. Reservist commitments. Service accommodation. And all the other wonderfully complicated bits of Forces life.

If you understand those things, that's a real bonus.

Who are we looking for?

Someone who is:

  • Qualified and experienced in private client work
  • Confident working independently
  • Client-focused and approachable
  • Commercially minded but not driven by volume
  • Comfortable working remotely
  • Looking for flexibility and autonomy
  • A good communicator and team player
  • Interested in being part of a growing business rather than simply taking another job

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who cares about the client sitting on the other side of the matter.

If you're an experienced Private Client Lawyer looking for a different way of working, we'd love to hear from you.

Remote. Flexible. Self-employed. Work available.

And if you have a connection to the Armed Forces, even better.
