Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is a General Medical Council (GMC) Sponsor Employer.

This job attracts a Recruitment and Retention payment of £25,000 in addition to £8000 relocation allowance. The RRP is pro rata for part-time employees.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Community Children and Young People Services (CYPS) team in East Surrey. You will play a key role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people aged 5–18, working with a skilled multi-disciplinary team based across Leatherhead and Gatton Place, Redhill.

This is a great opportunity to provide clinical leadership and direct psychiatric care within a service that delivers early support and specialist interventions for young people experiencing mental health difficulties. Our team works closely with families, schools, social care, paediatrics, and voluntary sector partners to ensure joined-up, holistic care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out assessments, provide diagnosis and treatment.
  • Offer consultation and supervision to colleagues across the service.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical governance, teaching, and quality improvement activities.
  • Offer outpatient clinics, hold a caseload, and do occasional home visits.
  • Liaise with primary care, be involved in referrals, and new assessments.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
