Priory Hospital Cheadle has an opportunity for a GMC registered Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team on our CAMHS ward.

Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal, Stockport is an inpatient mental health service for young people and adults. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes along Wilmslow Road and Cheadle Hulme and East Didsbury railway stations approximately 1–2 miles from the service.


What you'll be doing

  • Provide high quality clinical care for patients referred to the hospital
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that clients receive a holistic and person-centric care and treatment programme based on the recovery model
  • Take clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu
  • Fulfill the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)
  • Supervise the process of referral and admission including contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team members
  • Offer a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of adults

What you'll bring to the role

Essential:

  • MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification)
  • CCT (or equivalent)
  • Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register
  • Section 12(2) approval
  • Approved Clinician status
  • Demonstrate clinical knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to the speciality
  • Ability to work within and lead a team
  • Commitment to shared leadership, collaborative working, and service improvement
  • Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development

Experience

  • Working in inpatient settings with individuals facing significant mental health challenges
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
