Remuneration: Competitive, dependent upon experience- plus £1000 working from home allowance
Contract Type: Permanent/ Part time - 32 hours per week (0.8FTE)

The Consultant Psychiatrist – Children and Young Persons Clinical Service Lead plays a pivotal role within Psychiatry UK, providing expert clinical leadership to one of the UK's leading independent digital mental health providers. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to shape the future of Children and Young People (CYP) services, influence clinical strategy, and drive innovation in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
Working in close partnership with the Clinical Director, the Clinical Lead will provide visible and credible clinical leadership, champion excellence in clinical governance, and support the continued growth and development of our multidisciplinary teams. The postholder will play a key role in ensuring safe, effective, evidence-based care while driving continuous quality improvement, enhancing patient outcomes, and supporting the strategic objectives of the organisation.
This role offers the opportunity to influence service development at a national level while maintaining a strong focus on clinical quality, patient safety, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders to ensure the continued delivery of innovative, accessible, and high-quality services for children and young people across the UK.
This is a home-based role (applicants must reside in the UK), offering genuine flexibility and work-life balance, although occasional travel may be required for face-to-face meetings at various locations within the UK.
As our Consultant Psychiatrist – Children and Young Persons Clinical Service Lead, you will:
- Provide clinical leadership for Psychiatry UK's Children and Young People (CYP) services, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, evidence-based care and excellent patient outcomes.
- Lead and support the multidisciplinary clinical team by providing expert clinical guidance, promoting best practice, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
- Work in partnership with the Clinical Director and operational leaders to shape and develop CYP services, driving innovation, service transformation, and continuous quality improvement across the organisation.
- Oversee clinical governance, ensuring services meet CQC, safeguarding, and regulatory standards while maintaining the highest levels of clinical quality and patient safety.
- Monitor clinical performance, patient outcomes, and service quality, using data, audit findings, and patient feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance clinical effectiveness.
- Support the recruitment, induction, supervision, mentoring, and professional development of clinicians, helping to build a skilled, engaged, and resilient workforce.
- Chair and contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, providing clinical oversight and supporting effective decision-making across the service.
- Work collaboratively with operational colleagues to optimise clinical capacity, workforce planning, and patient pathways, ensuring timely access to high-quality care for children and young people.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting integrated working, service development, and the continued growth of Psychiatry UK's CYP services.

To succeed as our Consultant Psychiatrist – Children and Young Persons Clinical Service Lead, you will be:
- An experienced and inspirational Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist with a passion for clinical leadership, service improvement, and delivering exceptional patient care. Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Medical degree with postgraduate qualification (MRCPsych or equivalent).
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Extensive Consultant-level clinical experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Demonstrable experience providing clinical leadership within a complex healthcare environment.
- Experience leading, supervising, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance, safeguarding, patient safety, and compliance with relevant regulatory standards.
- Extensive knowledge of evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and wider child and young people's mental health conditions.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Experience delivering clinical education, teaching, or mentoring.
- Research experience, including publications or presentations relating to mental health or Children and Young People (CYP).
- Senior management qualification (e.g. MBA or equivalent).
- Experience leading service development, transformation, or innovation projects within healthcare.
- Experience of budget management and resource planning within clinical services.
- Knowledge of epidemiology, healthcare evaluation, and statistical analysis relevant to mental health services.
- Experience using clinical data and analytics to drive performance improvement and service delivery.
- Project and change management experience, including supporting organisational development and workforce engagement.
- Experience developing and implementing clinical risk management and safeguarding frameworks.
- Strong IT skills, including experience using electronic health records, clinical databases, and reporting systems.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to contribute to the strategic growth and development of Psychiatry UK's CYP services.
