Consultant Psychiatrist - Community Mental Health Team N3
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking, enthusiastic, full-time, substantive Consultant Psychiatrist to lead a Community Mental Health Team in the London Borough of Lewisham.
Role Overview
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be expected to undertake CPA reviews for your caseload and arrange follow-up appointments as necessary. The team will have a small number of patients subject to Section 17A Mental Health Act (1983/2007) (community treatment orders), and you will be the Responsible Clinician for these cases. The role will also involve liaising with GPs and other stakeholders, including patients and carers, team governance meetings, service development, and quality improvement work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatry consultant leadership and act as Approved Clinician to the Community Mental Health Team N3.
- Support the Team Leader and Clinical Service Lead.
- Close liaison with primary care; work directly with GPs and other stakeholders.
- Provide consultant input for Community Mental Health Team Neighbourhood 3.
- Provide clinical cover for other Lewisham borough consultants and vice versa.

Additional Information
Lewisham has been running a Consultant Connect service, which operates from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays. GPs have direct access for advice from a Consultant Psychiatrist on a rota basis.
