Consultant in Psychiatry (0.6WTE) - North Mersey Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHT)
About the Role
The Trust is seeking a part-time Consultant in Psychiatry (0.6WTE) in the North Mersey Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHT) covering Liverpool & Sefton. The post holder will actively participate in the clinical work of the team, primarily based on-site, but may also see service users at home as required. The post holder will be supported, where appropriate, to develop a special interest in a clinical area that aligns with the Trust's objectives.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate improved working relationships with Mersey Care colleagues, including involvement in shared governance arrangements and quality improvement initiatives.
- Regularly attend the Trust-wide Tuesday morning Local Academic postgraduate (LAP) programme (Local MRCPsych teaching) currently online via Teams as part of their weekly SPA sessions.
- Work closely with other consultant colleagues in CRHT and be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Encouraged to pursue education and experience for professional development.
- Take a lead in ongoing developments in CRHT and support the Trust’s strategic aims of delivering “Perfect Care”.
- Patient reviews and home visits to see urgent or emergency reviews for patients open to the team.
- Management of complex cases and consultative advice on patient care to other team members.
- Clinical leadership of the team by participating in team MDTs to discuss allocations of patients and dispense responsibilities under that role for such patients as per the MHA Code of Practice.
- Care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.
- Liaison and collaborative working with other services/agencies.
- Mental Health Act implementation.
- On-call Rota.
- Multi-disciplinary, multi-agency, and partnership working.
- Maintain contemporaneous documentation electronically on patient records and timely communications with primary care colleagues.
- Maintain a high standard of clinical work when carrying out clinical assessments.
- Ensure compliance with the clinical governance framework.
