Job Role
We are seeking enthusiastic candidates for this Inverclyde Consultant post in Old Age Psychiatry (10 PAs) to deliver comprehensive psychiatric care for patients over 65 registered at GP practices in Wemyss Bay, Greenock and Gourock covering the Western portion of Inverclyde HSCP (population ~8,500). This full-time post includes both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, with clinical leadership expected across multidisciplinary teams in the community and hospital settings.
- Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, plus on-call
- Location: Wemyss Bay, Greenock and Gourock
- Department: Old Age Psychiatry
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient care at Ward 4, Larkfield Unit, Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
- Collaborate with an integrated Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) with embedded social workers, Mental Health Officers, and allied health professionals.
- Work closely with other local and regional psychiatrists, participating in regular case discussions and senior clinician and management meetings.

Qualifications and Experience
- Recognition of trainer status is required.
- Experience or eligibility to act as RMO and AMP under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.
- Full GMC registration, a license to practice, and eligibility for the Specialist Register (CCT or CESR).
