Job Title
This job attracts a Recruitment and Retention payment of £25,000 in addition to £8000 relocation allowance. The RRP is pro rata for part-time employees.
About the Role
This is an opportunity for a consultant Psychiatrist who will be responsible for providing clinical input and leadership to the North-West Perinatal Mental Health team based at Unither House and will work alongside a multidisciplinary team in line with new ways of Working.
The Perinatal Mental Health Service
The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides a multidisciplinary, comprehensive community specialist service for assessing and treating women with psychosis and other severe mental illnesses in pregnancy and postnatally across the county of Surrey. We ensure that care provided aligns with the vision and values of the patient service centered, compassionate, high-quality, focused on the needs of the woman, the baby, and the wider family, facilitating shared decision-making at all times.
Responsibilities
The postholder will share responsibility with other consultant perinatal psychiatrists for providing high-quality clinical care across the perinatal service. This includes assessments of women's mental health and mother-infant relationships and related risks, bio-psycho-social diagnostic formulations, exploration of prevention, treatment, and care options, clear communication and shared decision-making with patients (and families as appropriate), communication and joint planning with other professionals and agencies by the most effective means, use of proper legal statutes and powers where necessary for good patient care.

- Provide regular clinical supervision to junior doctors working or training in the service
- Provide clinical advice and information as and when required to all staff
- Participate in the on-call rota with other Consultant staff as agreed in the job plan
Pay and Benefits
- NHS Consultant grade £113,565 - £150,569 per annum + £149 fringe + on-call requirement
- Recruitment premia £25,000 *subject to policy requirements
- Relocation allowance: up to £8000 *subject to policy requirement
- Up to £2000/year CPD allowance *subject to policy requirements
