Consultant Psychologist

We are seeking an exceptional and innovative Consultant Psychologist to join our Home Treatment Team at an exciting time of investment and service development. Significant new investment in therapies is enabling us to enhance our community crisis offer, ensuring more people can receive high-quality, evidence-based support in their own homes, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions and supporting timely discharge from inpatient care.

As Consultant Psychologist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the psychological approach across the Home Treatment Team. Working collaboratively with operational, clinical and professional leaders, you will support the development of innovative pathways that improve outcomes for people experiencing mental health crises.

You will provide expert consultation, assessment, formulation and intervention for individuals with highly complex presentations, whilst supporting the development of psychologically informed practice across the wider workforce.

There is an expectation that the Consultant Psychologist will routinely travel to the Home Treatment Team sites in Staines, Frimley, Guildford and Redhill as part of their role, and will be actively engaged across the 4 teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
