Consultant Radiographer - Breast Radiology
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and highly skilled Consultant Radiographer with a special interest in Breast Radiology to join our team. This role is flexible and can be tailored to the experience and skills of the successful applicant.
Symptomatic breast clinical sessions will primarily be based within the Clyde sector and at Gartnavel General Hospital, with the potential to work across other sectors as required. There may also be future opportunities to contribute to the West of Scotland Breast Screening Service.
About The Organisation
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest NHS provider in Scotland, with an annual operating budget of £4.65 billion. In recent years, the organisation has invested £15 million in new facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, digital mammography, PET-CT/SPECT, angiography, and general digital imaging.
Breast Imaging Services
Breast imaging services in Glasgow are delivered within the Diagnostics Directorate and include both symptomatic and screening services:
Symptomatic services are organised across Clyde, South, and North sectors:
- Clyde sector: Royal Alexandra Hospital (Paisley) and Inverclyde Royal Hospital
- South sector: Gartnavel General Hospital
- North sector: Stobhill Ambulatory Care Hospital

The successful candidate will support symptomatic services across these sectors, with a primary focus on Clyde and South, and occasional work in other locations as required.
Screening services are delivered through the West of Scotland Breast Screening Centre, the largest screening unit in Scotland. It provides 3 yearly breast screening to a population of approximately 270,000 women across Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Lanarkshire, and West Forth Valley Health Boards.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold full registration with the HCPC.
- Non-UK applicants must be able to demonstrate equivalent training and qualifications.
