Consultant Radiologist in Breast Radiology

Make a real difference to breast imaging services across West Wales as a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Breast Radiology, joining a supportive and established team within Hywel Dda University Health Board.
About the Role
We are seeking a Consultant Radiologist with expertise in Breast Radiology and experience in both general radiology and symptomatic breast imaging. This is an opportunity to join a team of 24 consultants and contribute to the continued development of radiology services across the Health Board.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside experienced radiology colleagues to deliver high-quality diagnostic services.
- Support the continued development of breast imaging pathways across the region.
- Undertake symptomatic breast assessment clinics and actively participate in the breast MDT.
- Cross-site collaboration with respect to reporting or MDT meetings is usually done via Teleradiology and video conferencing.

Qualifications and Experience
- Competence in mammography reporting, breast and axillary ultrasound, and image-guided biopsy of the breast and axilla.
- Experience in additional procedures such as vacuum-assisted biopsy/excision, preoperative localisation techniques, Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) and breast MRI reporting is desirable.
- Experience of contrast-enhanced mammography would also be desirable.
Working Conditions
- Based at Bronglais General Hospital, Ceredigion, with occasional travel to Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli and Withybush General Hospital, Pembrokeshire.
- Office accommodation, secretarial support, and full IT facilities including access to intranet and internet are provided.
