Job Title: Consultant – Retail (Merchandising)

Salary Range: £50,000–£60,000
Location / Working Model: UK | Hybrid working

Are you ready to help major retailers solve complex commercial challenges and turn data into meaningful business change? We are working with a specialist consulting organisation that combines industry expertise, advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions to help leading retail and FMCG businesses improve performance and achieve sustainable growth. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, engage with senior decision-makers and contribute to transformation projects that influence how businesses plan, trade and operate.

This Consultant will help clients shape business strategy, improve operating models and implement practical, technology-enabled solutions that deliver measurable commercial value.

Role Highlights

  • Develop practical solutions across merchandising, pricing, planning, analytics and digital transformation.
  • Lead client workshops, assess current processes and design improved business capabilities and operating models.
  • Drive technology implementation and transformation projects, collaborating with data and technology specialists.
  • Present research, commercial insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders and project leadership.
  • Build trusted client relationships while contributing to proposals, business development and internal innovation.

You Will Need

  • At least five years’ experience in retail merchandising, business transformation, analytics or consulting.
  • Background in merchandise planning, buying, supply chain, retail IT or a related commercial discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills, confidence working with large datasets and advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
  • Understanding of retail systems, business processes and technology-enabled transformation.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
