A well-established and growing ecological consultancy is looking to appoint a Consultant or Senior Ecologist to join its expanding team. Your new role
As a Consultant or Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in the delivery of ecological projects, supporting clients through the planning process and providing expert ecological advice. Depending on your level of experience, you will take ownership of projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery to a high technical standard.
You will be involved in a broad mix of fieldwork, reporting, and client interaction, contributing to both project delivery and wider business growth.

What you'll need to succeed
- A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- Demonstrable experience within ecological consultancy
- Strong field survey experience, including habitat and protected species surveys
- Proven experience in report writing, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments
- A sound understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines
- Full UK driving licence
For senior-level applicants, you will ideally also have:
- Experience managing projects and client relationships
- Protected species survey licences (e.g. bats, great crested newts)
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
- Knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) principles
