Role Description

This is a flexible, remote consultancy opportunity for a practising solicitor who wishes to work on high-quality civil and commercial litigation matters without the commitment of a traditional employed role.

The Consultant Solicitor is expected to:

  • Review case files;
  • Undertake client due diligence and regulatory compliance;
  • Provide legal input where appropriate;
  • Approve or amend documentation as necessary; and
  • Represent clients in hearings, where applicable.

Remuneration is based on an hourly rate of £150–£300/hour. The role is fully remote, with no minimum hours or exclusivity requirements, making it suitable for freelance solicitors, consultant solicitors, and sole practitioners.

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor or equivalent legal professional accreditation, with a valid practising certificate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear drafting and client-facing communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritise workload, and meet court and client deadlines independently.
  • Familiarity with UK civil procedure rules, regulatory frameworks, and digital case management systems.
