Consultant

Business area: Management Consulting

Location: London

Job ID: 326396

At LCP we love what we do, and it shows. We help our clients make good decisions based on insightful analysis, industry expertise, and game-changing technology. Working across a wide range of sectors, including pensions and benefits, investments, insurance, energy, health, sports, and data analytics, we help our clients navigate complexity in order to take the action that matters.

The Pensions Management Consulting (PMC) practice is a growing and successful department based in London. We provide a wide range of consultancy services to pension schemes of all sizes, advising both trustee and corporate clients. We are committed to delivering high-quality services and work closely with our clients to help ensure the pension schemes we advise are run as effectively as possible.

We are a diverse and inclusive team of 26 colleagues and partners, known for our energy, enthusiasm and commitment. Our backgrounds include pensions administration, pensions actuarial work, in-house roles, legal and governance. We place great emphasis on investing in and developing our people, who are central to what we do and to our continued success. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who will contribute to the continued strength of our department.

Services and Activities

Some of our key services and activities include:

  • Helping our clients manage and operate their pension schemes effectively. This often involves acting as the named Trustee Secretary and advising on all aspects of scheme governance.
  • Advising on best practice for pension schemes by running interactive exercises to help trustees and sponsors assess their effectiveness and implement improvements.
  • Designing and leading bespoke procurement exercises for our clients, including administration and independent professional trustee selection exercises. This requires expertise across a range of market areas, alongside detailed research with service providers.
  • Project managing a wide variety of projects for our clients, for LCP, and for the wider pensions industry.
  • Client relationship management – we develop strong working relationships with our clients and the other advisers we work with. We are also often the key point of contact for LCP colleagues in other departments, helping to ensure that our clients receive an excellent service.

Role Responsibilities

What will you be doing?

  • Working with colleagues across the department and wider firm to deliver all aspects of trustee secretarial support for existing clients
  • Undertaking individual named Trustee Secretary appointments
  • Contributing to the development of LCP’s governance services and deliver governance consulting services that support clients in following regulatory and industry best practice
  • Working with colleagues to deliver standalone project support to clients, including adviser procurement
  • Acting as the main point of contact for some clients
  • Contributing to new business tenders and pitches, and to the development and marketing of PMC services
  • Providing in-house support to clients, where required from time to time. This may be in the capacity of pensions manager, Trustee Secretary or pensions team member
  • Taking responsibility for managing your workload and client relationships effectively, while demonstrating the motivation to seek new development opportunities
  • Playing an active role in the development of less experienced colleagues within the department, potentially including line management and appraisal responsibilities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
