AI Tokenomics Consultant / Senior Consultant – Capgemini Invent

Your Role: AI Tokenomics Consultant / Senior Consultant

You will develop an understanding of AI technologies, cloud-based AI services, and the financial implications of token-based consumption. Using your analytical skills, you’ll monitor, report, and optimise AI usage and cost data, supporting organisations in extending FinOps practices into the emerging discipline of AI Tokenomics.

AI Tokenomics is a rapidly evolving field focused on how AI token consumption is measured, attributed, optimised, and connected to business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor AI consumption and token usage patterns to identify cost, efficiency, and value optimisation opportunities.
  • Develop reports, metrics, and models to analyse AI usage, token consumption, model costs, and forecast future AI spend.
  • Support dashboard creation showing AI consumption by:
    • Team
    • Product
    • Use case
    • Model
    • Provider
    • Business outcome
  • Collaborate with technical owners, AI product teams, and engineering teams to:
    • Understand and forecast token-based AI spend
    • Optimise consumption
  • Analyse key AI cost drivers, including:
    • Input tokens
    • Output tokens
    • Model selection
    • Context length
    • Prompt design
    • Retries
    • Embeddings
    • API consumption
  • Review AI use cases for:
    • Cost
    • Expected value
    • Scalability
    • Business alignment
  • Work with FinOps, finance, sourcing, and technology teams to support:
    • Budgeting
    • Showback
    • Chargeback
    • Cost allocation
  • Identify AI efficiency improvements through:
    • Model tiering
    • Prompt optimisation
    • Caching
    • Context management
    • Usage limits
    • Workload routing
  • Support client-facing workshops, maturity assessments, and reporting activities focused on FinOps for AI and AI Tokenomics.
  • Create documentation and guidance to educate users on:
    • AI cost management
    • Token efficiency
    • Responsible generative AI consumption
  • Analyse multiple AI platforms and providers, including:
    • Azure OpenAI
    • AWS Bedrock
    • Google Vertex AI
    • OpenAI API
    • Anthropic
    • Databricks
    • Snowflake AI Services (where relevant)
  • Provide insights into emerging AI pricing models and token-based cost structures to help teams make informed technology and investment decisions.

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner (FinOps Foundation)
  • FinOps for AI Certified Practitioner (FinOps Foundation)
  • Foundational understanding of:
    • Generative AI
    • Large language models
    • Cloud-based AI services
  • Background/interest in:
    • Financial analytics
    • Technology cost management
    • Cloud economics
    • AI cost optimisation
  • Experience with:
    • MS Excel
    • Power BI
    • Reporting tools or dashboarding
  • Ability to:
    • Analyse usage and cost data
    • Translate findings into measurable insights
  • Strong communication skills to engage with:
    • Technical stakeholders
    • Finance teams
    • Business leadership
  • Awareness of major cloud and AI platforms, including:
    • Azure, AWS, GCP
    • OpenAI, Anthropic, Databricks
  • Previous experience in:
    • FinOps
    • Cloud cost management
    • Data/financial analysis
    • Technology consulting

Preferred Bonuses:

  • Exposure to FinOps for AI, AI cost management, or model usage reporting
  • Understanding of token-based pricing concepts, such as:
    • Input tokens
    • Output tokens
    • Context windows
    • Embeddings
    • API calls
  • Experience supporting:
    • Workshops
