Role: Consulting Director - Digital Estate & Intelligent Hospitals

Location: London or Manchester
Package: £120,000 base + executive bonus
Domain: Digital Healthcare Infrastructure / New Hospital Programme (NHP)

Are you an entrepreneurial consulting leader or strategic healthcare executive ready to shape the next generation of digitally enabled hospitals?

We are partnered with a specialist, fast-growing healthcare transformation consultancy currently expanding its Digital Estate practice. As national hospital modernisation programmes accelerate, they are seeking a Consulting Director to take full P&L ownership, build market propositions, and drive delivery across major intelligent hospital developments.

The Opportunity

Leading one of the firm's core growth pillars alongside Technology and Healthcare Applications, you will guide NHS trusts and healthcare providers through the design, commissioning, and realization of smart healthcare environments:

  • Practice Leadership & P&L: Own the strategic growth plan, revenue targets, and commercial margins for the Digital Estate practice.
  • New Hospital Programmes: Shape high-value advisory and delivery engagements centred on new hospital builds, connected ICT infrastructure, and intelligent facilities.
  • Proposition Development: Create repeatable service frameworks covering digital hospital master planning, business cases, design assurance, and post-occupancy optimisation.
  • Executive Engagement: Partner with NHS executive boards, estates directors, and digital leaders to align capital investments with operational and clinical outcomes.

Who Fits Best?

  • Background: Proven leadership within healthcare consulting, major capital infrastructure advisory, or executive healthcare operations (e.g., strategic Hospital COO or healthcare estate transformation director). Direct EPR experience is not required; the emphasis is on smart environments and digital buildings.
  • Commercial Drive: Demonstrated track record scaling a consulting capability, originating work, managing margins, and winning competitive bids.
  • Sector Credibility: Deep understanding of the UK healthcare estate landscape and major hospital build initiatives.
