Consumer & Shopper Insights Analyst – Student Placement
Location: Reading, Berkshire, UK
Employment Type: Student Placement / Full-time
Work Model: Hybrid – typically 2–3 days per week in the office
Overview
Student placement opportunity within Consumer & Shopper Insights, supporting research, data analysis and insight generation for marketing, category management and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end consumer and shopper research projects.
- Design, coordinate and analyse quantitative and qualitative research.
- Work with external research partners and internal stakeholders.
- Connect research findings and datasets to identify broader business insights.
- Analyse consumer, shopper and market data to support decision-making.
- Manage research project documentation, compliance and budgets.
- Track purchase orders and project expenditure.
- Support larger strategic insight projects while owning smaller initiatives.
- Present findings and translate data into clear, actionable recommendations.

Requirements
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a critical, independent approach.
- Interest in consumer and shopper behaviour.
- Strong organisation, planning and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Collaborative approach with strong stakeholder relationship skills.
- Proactive, curious and commercially aware.
- Interest in research methodologies, data analysis and consumer insights.
