Company Description
Container Care Garston is strategically located on Garston Dock near Liverpool City Centre, providing easy access to Liverpool docks, industrial areas, and national transport links via the nearby M62 motorway. The depot offers comprehensive container services, including lifting and store of all types of empty containers, repairs, conversion, and sales. The site covers 4.75 acres.
Role Description
The Container Control role is a full-time, on-site position based in Liverpool at the Garston Dock depot. The Container Control team member will manage the booking in & out of all HGV vehicles & visitors to site, controlling the status of containers, ensuring accurate records of lifts, storage, and repairs. Responsibilities include updating systems and reports, coordinating with yard staff, drivers, and customers, and stock control. The role involves monitoring container availability, identifying discrepancies, and supporting efficient use of storage capacity and equipment. The Container Control Operator will work closely with yard operations to maintain safety standards, smooth depot workflows, and high levels of customer service.

- Strong administrative and organizational skills, including accurate data entry, record-keeping, and document management.
- Proficiency with basic IT systems (email, spreadsheets, inventory, or depot management software) and willingness to learn company-specific tools.
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with yard teams, drivers, customers, and management.
- Basic understanding of container depot / Logistics operations, with awareness of lifting, storage, repair, and cleaning processes (training can be provided).
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to identify discrepancies in container counts, movements, and status reports.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced operational environment, including prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in container freight, transport, shipping, or warehousing is beneficial but not essential.
