Job description:

Content & AI Strategist

Bristow & Hardy. A UK marketing agency that works with recruitment firms.

Reports to: Sam Hardy, Director

Hours: 9-5 / Mon-Fri

Location: Manchester City Centre

Experience: 3 to 5 years in content, marketing or a similar role

About us

Bristow & Hardy is a marketing agency that works only with recruitment firms. We are a team of around ten, working with about 40 recruitment businesses across the UK on their marketing, content, lead generation and websites.

The role

Every campaign we run for a client is built around an asset. A guide, a report, a salary survey, a market update, a pitch deck or a case study that gives their clients and candidates a real reason to talk to them. This role owns those assets. You will decide what they should be, research them properly, build them and make sure they do their job.

The building is still a big part of the role, and AI takes a lot of the heavy lifting out of it. What we are really looking for is someone with ideas, who understands why these assets matter to a recruitment business and can get under the skin of any industry we ask them to.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you will do

  • Come up with the ideas for the assets our client campaigns are built around, and explain why they will work.
  • Research across a wide range of industries and levels, from site managers to finance directors, so every asset sounds like it was written by someone who knows that market.
  • Build the assets: guides, reports, landing pages, pitch decks, case studies and sales documents.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude every day to research, draft and build faster, and help the rest of the team do the same.
  • Keep the quality high. Nothing generic, nothing that reads like it was churned out.
  • Look at how each asset performs and use what you learn on the next one.

What you bring

Traits

  • Full of ideas and happy to share them.
  • Curious. You enjoy getting into an industry you knew nothing about last week.
  • An eye for what looks good and reads well.
  • Organised and calm with several clients on the go at once.
  • Clear and honest in how you communicate.

Skills and experience

  • 3 to 5 years in content, marketing or a similar role, ideally in an agency.
  • Confident using AI tools like Claude for real work, every day.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Able to build good-looking documents, decks and landing pages in tools like Canva, Google Slides or a page builder.
  • Comfortable reading simple performance data and acting on it.
  • Recruitment or staffing experience is a bonus, not a must.

  • Clear processes and playbooks, so you are never left guessing.
  • 3 days working from office (Mon, Weds, Fri)
