Challenger brands will never succeed when they’re just copying what the rest of the market does, regurgitating the same old proposition and making the same promises. For the new kid on the block to make an impact, they need to do something differently.
The company we’re partnering with on this exclusive role have done just that and managed to carve themselves (and own) a unique niche in a massively congested market. They’ve built their brand around a couple of key pillars – sustainability and great customer service – and have reached a stage of their development where they need someone dedicated to capturing and communicating the essence of their brand through social channels.
The Role – Content & Social Media Executive
This is definitely not a role for someone who wants to be handed a completed content calendar and a folder marked “approved assets”: you’ll be expected to bring ideas with you, learn how to frame them in order to get buy-in across the business and then showcase their success. Working closely with the Head of Marketing and people across the business you’ll help shape what the brand talks about, how it talks about it and increasingly have influence into where those conversations happen. You’ll create social content, write copy, produce visuals, film and edit short-form video and uncover stories from around the business that deserve an audience.
If you’re confident presenting on screen then that’s certainly another string to your bow that will be useful. You’ll need to be one of social media’s biggest champions internally. You’ll need the confidence and energy to get people across the business involved – maybe dragging Paul from accounts out to help you with a reel – and explain what makes good social content whilst persuading colleagues to share their stories, opinions, expertise and moments that can bring the brand to life.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

About You – Content & Social Media Executive
We’re looking for someone with ideas. Lots of them. Good ones, bad ones, really awful ones – it doesn’t matter. As long as there are some good ones. Or even better, great ones. You could be fresh out of university, or still relatively early in your marketing career, but you’ll already be creating good content and you’ll have a portfolio that shows us what you can do. You’ll understand social media beyond simply knowing where the buttons are and you’ll have a feel for what makes people stop, watch, read, comment or share and be able to apply that to the environment this business operates in.
