Content & Communications Specialist

6 Month FTC (Maternity Cover)

Newcastle Upon Tyne

A great opportunity has arisen for a Content & Communications Specialist to join our Global HQ in Newcastle on a 6 months FTC (maternity cover). This midweight role is ideal for someone who has experience in writing Tech based content, or happy to move into this area.

Role Overview

As Content & Communications Specialist, you will be involved in producing internal and external communications across all our channels (including LinkedIn), you will produce your own content as well as adding the 'human touch' to AI driven content.

This opportunity allows you to utilise both your market skills, as well as content output - if you have video production skills they would come in handy too (but not essential) - in the form of visuals, web, moving image, promotions, presentations, and copy.

Responsibilities

As Content & Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Create written content across a range of formats, including Email, Website, Blogs, Case studies, Thought leadership articles, Social media copy, and general marketing communications, Internal comms copy (email updates, intranet content)
  • Work within AI delivery frameworks for content ideation and output
  • Write and edit content that aligns with brand and tone guidelines, while reflecting an understanding of our products, services, and customer needs
  • Support cross-functional teams with content requests, ensuring clarity and quality across all outputs
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, internal comms, and other business areas to understand priorities and meet content needs
  • Contribute to internal campaign planning and messaging development

Skills & Experience We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in a content or communications role, ideally within a technology, recruitment, or B2B environment
  • An understanding of Open Ai / ChatGPT and prompt writing to deliver ideas and content to humanise for delivery
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a portfolio of content for both internal and external audiences
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical subject matter clearly and effectively
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress), Microsoft Word, and content management best practices
  • Confident working within brand and tone of voice guidelines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to tight deadlines
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid model with 3 days per week in the Newcastle office

  • Technical Understanding: Comfortable translating complex information into digestible content, with a grasp of our customers, technologies, and broader industry landscape.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintains high standards of accuracy, grammar, and consistency, particularly when working with technical or compliance-sensitive content.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Builds strong working relationships across departments to gather inputs, align messaging, and deliver content that meets business objectives.
  • Brand Stewardship: Confident working within brand and tone of voice guidelines, ensuring consistency across all written content.
  • Time Management & Prioritisation: Able to juggle multiple content requests and deadlines with minimal supervision, delivering high-quality work at pace.
  • Digital Fluency: Understands how content fits within digital channels and platforms (e.g. web, email, social), with working knowledge of CMS tools like WordPress.
