About us

Gooey started in 2020. We first made our name with NYC inspired cookies and donuts, baked fresh every day. Things really took off during Covid, where we delivered daily to thousands of people across every corner of Greater Manchester.

Since then, we've continued to grow independently and in a considered way.

Our Northern Quarter neighbourhood bakery and café opened next in August 2022 with brunch, lunch and our now famous French Toast, which has been enjoyed by over 100,000 people and counting from all over the world.

We have since expanded with another cafe, kiosks in Selfridges, Manchester Airport and Sheffield and we've got a lot more we want to do over the coming years.

We care deeply about our team, the quality of everything we do and building something that resonates strongly with people.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
