I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For
You should already have:
- Practical experience shooting and editing video
- Experience creating content for social media
- A strong understanding of storytelling and visual content
- A creative eye for framing, composition and what looks good on camera
- An understanding of hooks, pacing and audience attention
- Confidence using editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro / Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve or similar
- A good understanding of social media platforms and current content formats
- An interest in AI-assisted content creation
- Good communication and time-management skills
- A proactive, self-sufficient approach to your work
It would be preferred if you also have your own videography equipment that you are comfortable using for shoots.
Experience in digital marketing, photography, graphic design, social media management or paid advertising would also be useful, but isn't essential.
You'll Need to Be Self-Sufficient
This isn't a content creation training programme, so you'll need to already have the foundations to create good content.
You'll be given briefs, direction, business context and feedback from the marketing team, but we'll expect you to take ownership of your work and be proactive about developing your own skills.
That means researching techniques when you need to, experimenting with new tools and formats, solving creative problems and bringing your own ideas to the table.
We don't expect you to know everything, but we do expect you to take initiative and ask for support when you need it.
Although this will start off as an internship, we are looking for someone who will become a part of the wider CPS team and develop the role into their own with long-term career progression.
What You'll Get From the Experience
Over the six months, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Build a stronger professional media portfolio
- Gain valuable experience within the B2B industry
- Create content for a real organisation and live campaigns
- Work alongside a professional marketing team
- Gain hands-on experience across the full content production process
- Produce both organic and paid social content
- Create short-form and long-form video
- Work with professionals and subject-matter experts
- Experiment with AI as part of a real content workflow
- See your work published across live company channels
- Build real examples of professional work you can show future employers or clients
For the right person, this could be an opportunity to kick-start a career in professional B2B content creation and demonstrate the value you can bring to CPS through consistent, high-quality content.
There may also be an opportunity to stay on with CPS in a paid content position after the six-month internship, based on your overall performance and CPS's ongoing business requirements.

Hours & Working Arrangement
You'll work 16 hours per week across two 8-hour days:
- 1 day on-site (8 hours) — primarily focused on planning, storyboarding, scripting, filming, interviews and capturing content with the CPS team on-site at their Bradford office.
- 1 day on-site (8 hours) — primarily focused on editing, post-production, AI-assisted content creation, repurposing content and preparing/publishing content across social media.
We understand you may be balancing university, freelance work or other commitments, so CPS will offer reasonable flexibility with advance notice.
You'll also need to be flexible around CPS's content requirements. Occasionally, your usual in-person day may need to change to accommodate a shoot, event, webinar, campaign or other content opportunity. Wherever possible, this will be agreed in advance.
Travel and lunch expenses are covered up to a combined maximum of £15 per day (where receipts are provided).
Therefore, applicants should be based in Yorkshire or within reasonable travelling distance of CPS.
How to Apply
Send us:
- Your CV containing a summary of your content creation experience
- A brief introduction telling us why you're interested in the opportunity and what you can bring to CPS (Want to stand out? Send us a short intro video!)
- Examples of video or social media content you've created (essential)
Your examples don't need to be professional client work. They could be university projects, personal content, freelance work or something you've created simply to develop your skills.
We will not consider any applicants who apply without a portfolio of their creative work.
This is an immediate start position to commence mid-October (date to be confirmed during the final stage interviews). So, if this sounds like the opportunity you’ve been looking for, get your application in ASAP.
We look forward to hearing from you.
