Hearst UK operates an in office policy with flexible Friday's. Our office is based at House of Hearst, 30 Panton Street, St James's, London, SW1Y 4AJ, where teams collaborate in person and connect across brands and functions.

Salary

Circa £29,000 - Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the candidate’s skills, knowledge, and relevant expertise

The Role

As the Content Creator, Lifestyle & Entertainment, you will create engaging Lifestyle and Entertainment content across Hearst UK’s entertainment portfolio, supporting Best Magazine, Inside Soap and Digital Spy. You’ll produce editorial content for both print and digital platforms, identify trending stories, and help bring celebrity, fashion and lifestyle coverage to life for our audiences.

Working as part of a fast-paced editorial team, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the department, supporting competitions, podcasts, events, photoshoots and editorial administration while building strong relationships with PRs and industry contacts. You’ll also represent the brands at launches and press events, helping identify opportunities that keep our content fresh, relevant and commercially successful.

This is a varied, hands-on role for a creative, organised and proactive content creator who thrives on celebrity culture, lifestyle trends and entertainment news, enjoys working across multiple brands, and is excited by the opportunity to contribute to some of the UK’s best-loved entertainment titles.

Main Duties

  • Create engaging lifestyle content for Digital Spy, producing up to three stories per day as required.
  • Produce the weekly Style Watch page for Inside Soap and support lifestyle content for Best magazine.
  • Support the planning and delivery of Entertainment portfolio events and the annual Inside Soap Goodie Bags.
  • Coordinate the competitions process, managing approvals, entry mechanics and deadlines.
  • Support the production of the Suddenly Single podcast, coordinating guest logistics and release forms.
  • Provide day-to-day editorial administration, including commissioning, invoice processing, product returns and maintaining editorial resources.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with PRs and media contacts to source content, competitions and product opportunities.
  • Represent Hearst UK brands at press events and launches, supporting the wider editorial team as required, and act as an ambassador for Hearst UK and its values.

What We Are Looking For

  • A strong knowledge of celebrity culture, entertainment, fashion and lifestyle trends, with an understanding of what engages magazine and digital audiences.
  • Experience writing engaging, accurate and commercially aware editorial content, ideally across both print and digital platforms.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and how to create or contribute to engaging content that resonates with audiences.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise competing tasks in a fast-paced editorial environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent proofreading and fact-checking skills.
  • Confident building and maintaining relationships with PRs, agencies and other industry contacts to source content, competitions and opportunities.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic and collaborative approach, with a willingness to support colleagues, events, photoshoots and wider editorial projects.
  • Comfortable representing Hearst UK brands at launches, press events and industry functions, including occasional evening events.
  • Experience using editorial content management systems, with proficiency in Censhare highly desirable.
  • Strong administrative skills, with confidence managing invoices, commissioning processes and general editorial administration.
  • A positive team player who is adaptable, resourceful and keen to learn, with a genuine passion for magazines, entertainment and celebrity culture.
