As a Content Designer...
Purpose
Deliver content design that helps users find, understand, and act on the information that matters most — contributing to the creation of clear, accessible, and compelling digital content across client engagements.

Craft
- Run and support content design activities, including workshops, user interviews, content critiques, and collaborative working sessions.
- Create content and key content design deliverables including content style guides, content matrices, copy decks, and collaborate on design system documentation.
- Define content requirements based on relevant business objectives, technical constraints, and accessibility considerations.
- Determine information architecture and content structure at the project level.
- Apply accessibility guidelines and plain language principles as a baseline in all content work.
Project
- Support the delivery of end-to-end content design, taking ownership of defined workstreams while collaborating with design leads and team members.
- Facilitate communication across disciplines at the project level to create alignment and improve ways of working.
- Manage your own time and output effectively within project timelines.
Client
- Work with client teams to understand user needs, business priorities, and brand context.
- Present content thinking clearly, using the right level of feedback to build alignment and support iteration.
- Support new business development by providing content design expertise to pitches, proposals, and client conversations.

Requirements
Years of Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in content design, UX writing, digital design, or content strategy, with examples of work on digital products or services.
- Familiarity with accessibility guidelines and plain language principles.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Science, Design, Journalism, English Studies, Linguistics, or a related field.
Skillset
- Experience translating business and customer requirements to shape narrative and content strategy across touchpoints.
- Experience applying accessibility guidelines and designing to industry-recognised standards.
- Experience running online and offline workshops and interviews to validate design decisions.
- Working knowledge of the content landscape, including content design, content strategy, information architecture, and content operations.
- Use evidence, feedback, and performance signals to create and evolve content to meet user and business needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.
Set Yourself Apart
- Previous work utilising GDS (Government Design System) or equivalent public sector content standards.
- Experience contributing to content within a design system.
- Show curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, including how they may support content design, research synthesis, prototyping, and responsible experience design.

- Believe strategic thinking should be supported by tangible solutions that help clients connect to their users through memorable experiences.
- Understand content design as a discipline and a practice and actively develop your expertise.
- Demonstrate an ability to deliver what you commit to do, with care and quality.
Portfolio Requirement
Applications should include a portfolio demonstrating content craft, process, decision-making, and relevant experience across digital products or services.

- Some clients require background checks. You will need to complete a Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) to confirm your identity, criminal record, right to work, and residency.
- Comfortable with hybrid working. Every project is different, but we love our team to be in the studio and in our client's office to work collaboratively.
