Content Designer
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Hybrid
Salary: Up to £55,000
The Role
We're looking for a Content Designer to join a close-knit UX and Design team, working across a range of clients and digital services.
You'll use research, data and user-centred design principles to create clear, accessible content that makes complex information and processes easier to understand.
What You'll Be Doing
- Create clear, engaging and accessible micro and long-form content across digital platforms.
- Use user research, data and feedback to inform content decisions.
- Work closely with User Researchers, UX Designers, Developers and other specialists.
- Understand user journeys and use content to improve the overall user experience.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts to ensure content is accurate and relevant.
- Present and explain your work to internal teams and client stakeholders.
- Continuously improve content based on user feedback, analytics and best practice.
- Ensure content meets accessibility, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Work independently as the Content Designer within a Scrum/Agile team.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a Content Design or UX Writing role.
- Experience working with Government Digital Service (GDS) design principles.
- Strong understanding of User-Centred Design.
- Experience influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with tone of voice, design patterns and style guides.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have
- Experience working in an Agile or multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of Markdown or HTML.
- Experience working on public sector or regulated digital services.
