Recruiting for a content developer for a company in the publishing industry, currently on a pilot to restructure and standardise their journal guidelines, converting rewritten content into structured JSON for web publication.
The Project
This role is part of a 3 month pilot designed to restructure content into a more streamlined and modular architecture. Your role will involve converting the files into structured JSON, creating a modular component driven architecture. Some basic scripting in JavaScript or Python is needed to automate parts of this process.

What You'll Be Doing
- Converting plain text editorial guidelines into structured JSON, following an evolving modular component/page template
- Mapping content fields to their corresponding HTML/template structure and associated styling (styling is already defined — no design work required)
- Working from existing spreadsheets and source documents to populate structured content
- Identifying common vs. journal-specific components to support a consistent, modular content structure
- Troubleshooting content/data mapping issues as the structure is refined
- Where possible, using scripting (Python or JavaScript) to automate parts of the content transformation process

What You'll Need
- Strong understanding of JSON and structured/modular content approaches
- Comfortable working from plain text/spreadsheet sources and converting them into structured formats
- Basic scripting ability (Python, JavaScript, or similar) to support automation where useful
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with ambiguity, as the content architecture is still being finalised
Contract Details
- Part-time, approx. 3 months
- Fully remote, Outside IR35
- Target start: late August / early September 2026
