Company Description
Legal Illustrated is a specialist legal consultancy supporting brands, agencies, creators, founders, media companies and digital first businesses.
We provide practical commercial legal support across commercial contracts, intellectual property, advertising and marketing, creator and influencer partnerships, brand collaborations, data privacy and emerging technology.
Founded by Indy Sira, Legal Illustrated combines significant in-house legal experience with a modern, commercially focused approach to legal support. We work particularly closely with businesses operating across media, entertainment, technology, advertising and the creator economy.
The Role
We’re looking for a creative and commercially minded Freelance Content & Digital Marketing Lead to help shape and grow the Legal Illustrated brand, strengthen our digital presence and support new business generation.
This is a hands on role with genuine scope to influence the direction of the brand. You’ll have the freedom to bring ideas to the table, identify opportunities, test new approaches and help shape what Legal Illustrated should be talking about, how we communicate it and where we show up.
You’ll work closely with the founder, taking legal and business topics, ideas and subject matter from across Legal Illustrated and turning them into engaging, timely and visually strong digital content. We’re looking for someone who enjoys having ownership rather than simply working through a list of briefs.
You should feel comfortable making recommendations, spotting opportunities we may not have considered and helping us build a content and marketing approach that evolves based on what works.
The role combines creative thinking with execution: helping shape the direction, then bringing those ideas to life across social, video, website and wider digital marketing activity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and managing a practical content and social media plan across LinkedIn, Instagram and other relevant platforms, with scope to identify and test new channels where they could support audience growth and lead generation.
- Creating carousels, infographics, social posts and other digital content from ideas and subject matter provided by the founder and wider Legal Illustrated team.
- Identifying timely, topical and trend-led opportunities, including relevant legal developments, industry conversations and social trends that Legal Illustrated can credibly contribute to.
- Creating, filming and editing short-form video content for LinkedIn, Instagram and other relevant channels, including helping plan and direct occasional content days.
- Repurposing legal developments, business insights and founder-led ideas across different formats and channels.
- Scheduling and publishing content in line with agreed campaign timings and publication dates while maintaining a consistent and recognisable brand voice.
- Bringing proactive ideas for new content formats, campaigns and ways to grow reach, engagement, website traffic and inbound enquiries.
- Supporting marketing and lead-generation activity, including identifying opportunities to turn audience interest and engagement into new business.
- Reviewing content and channel performance and using insights, analytics and basic SEO and discoverability principles to refine the approach.
- Supporting occasional updates to the Legal Illustrated website, including refreshing content and keeping key pages up to date.
- Helping shape the wider positioning, content strategy and creative direction of the brand as it develops.
What we’re looking for
- Experience creating and shaping digital and social-first content, ideally for a founder-led, professional services, creative or B2B business.
- Strong creative and commercial judgement, with the confidence to bring recommendations rather than simply work from a brief.
- The ability to take ownership of a content workstream, identify what needs doing and keep momentum without significant day-to-day direction.
- Strong content creation skills across social posts, carousels, infographics and short-form video.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to make technical or potentially dry topics engaging and accessible.
- A good understanding of LinkedIn and other relevant social platforms, including what makes content perform and how content can contribute to audience growth and new business.
- An eye for current trends, topical conversations and reactive content opportunities.
- Strong creative instincts and the confidence to suggest what we should be doing next.
- An understanding of digital marketing and how content can support brand awareness, engagement, website traffic and lead generation.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities and deliver agreed content to deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and good commercial judgement.
- Familiarity with website CMS platforms, analytics and basic SEO is desirable.
- Experience in legal, professional services, marketing, media or the creator economy would be helpful, but strong creative instincts, commercial judgement and the ability to take ownership matter more than a particular sector background.

The Engagement
This is a freelance consultancy engagement on a rolling monthly basis.
The first month is expected to involve approximately 20–25 hours, typically spread across the month with regular weekly input. The level of support thereafter is expected to vary month to month depending on business needs and content activity.
There will be flexibility around how the work is carried out, although certain agreed deliverables, including scheduled content, campaigns and other time sensitive marketing activity, will need to be delivered by agreed deadlines or publication dates.
The engagement will be primarily remote, with occasional in person content days in central Birmingham where useful and agreed in advance.
The scope has room to grow over time depending on what works and the evolving needs of the business.
