We're hiring a Content & Growth Manager at GymSync

The idea behind GymSync has always been ambitious: what if every gym, anywhere in the world, could compete together?

Same workout, same weekend, one global leaderboard. Whether you're training in London, New York, Dubai or Sydney, your gym can be part of the same competition.

We’ve spent the last couple of years proving that idea works. Thousands of athletes have now competed through gyms across the UK and beyond, we’re working with partners including Nike and Optimum Nutrition, and we’re now at the point where we want to see just how big we can make this.

There’s also an unbelievable amount happening inside GymSync that we simply aren’t doing a good enough job of showing. That’s why we’re hiring.

What we actually need

This isn’t really a traditional social media manager role. We’re looking for someone who can get close enough to the business to understand what’s happening, spot the stories themselves and turn them into great content.

That might mean sitting in on a team meeting and realising there are three stories we should tell from it. It might be following Flo through something she’s working on, spending a day at a GymSync event, talking to one of our gym owners, capturing something we're doing with Nike, or hearing about a problem we're trying to solve and realising there’s a great founder piece in it.

We want this person to be able to come to us and say, “I need you for 20 minutes on Thursday. These are the three things we’re filming, these are the hooks and this is why I think they’ll work.” Then actually make it happen, from the initial idea through to filming, editing, publishing and learning from what worked.

GymSync comes first. Our gyms, athletes, events, community and partners are at the heart of the content, and ultimately the role needs to help us grow those things.

But we also want us to get much better at showing what happens behind the scenes when you’re trying to build a company like this. There’s a team of people building GymSync, lots of things going right, plenty going wrong, partnerships developing, events being created and a business evolving in real time. I think there’s a really interesting story there that we’ve barely started telling.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role will also work closely with Nick on founder content and Fair Rates for Fitness, our campaign around the impact of revenue-based taxes on gyms and the wider fitness industry.

There genuinely isn’t a shortage of things to talk about. We need someone who is brilliant at recognising which stories are worth telling and knows how to make people care about them.

Who we’re looking for

The biggest thing is that you need to get fitness. We don’t particularly care whether the route here was traditional marketing. You could be a coach who became brilliant at content, a creator, a former gym owner, someone who has worked for a fitness brand or event, or someone who has built something of their own.

In fact, having built something yourself carries a lot of weight. There’s a different understanding that comes from having had to create something from nothing, get people interested in it and actually make it work.

What we don’t want is someone who needs the fitness industry explained to them. You should understand gyms, their communities and the people inside them, and instinctively understand why something matters to a gym owner or an athlete.

You also need to be hands-on. We’re a startup, so this isn’t a role where you write the strategy and hand it to a team to execute. You should be comfortable coming up with the idea, scripting it, shooting it, editing it and getting it out there. Sometimes you’ll be behind the camera, sometimes you’ll be directing us, and sometimes you’ll probably end up in the content yourself.

How to apply

We’d still like to see your CV or LinkedIn because your background matters and we want to understand what you’ve done. But we're much more interested in whether you understand the fitness industry, the content you’ve actually created and the thinking behind it.

To apply, send us:

  • Your CV or LinkedIn profile, so we can understand your background and what you’ve done.
  • A short note about you and fitness. What’s your relationship with the industry? Maybe you coach, compete, train, work in fitness or have built something within it. We want to understand why this is a world you genuinely get.
  • Your social profiles and/or examples of content you’ve created that you’re proud of. We’re less interested in how many views something got and more interested in why you made it. Tell us what you were trying to do, who it was for, why you approached it the way you did and what you liked about the end result. We want to understand how you think about content, not just how it performed.

If we like what we see, we’ll invite you to interview and ask you to come with something simple: if this was your job, what would your first week of GymSync content look like?

We don’t want polished designs or a load of unpaid work. We want to see the stories you’d tell, the hooks you’d use, who you’d involve and why. More than anything, we want to see whether you understand what we’re trying to build and can see opportunities in it that perhaps we haven’t seen ourselves.

If this sounds like you, apply now.

And if somebody came into your head while reading this, please send it to them. The person we’re looking for might not be looking for a job at all.
