Content Management Officer
Location:
UK or Poland (residents only – relocation and sponsorship not provided)
Role Purpose
The Content Management Officer will coordinate the secure and organized storage and management of British Council intellectual property, ensuring:
- The latest versions of content and assets are available to the business.
- Versioning updates are efficiently managed.
- Assets are securely managed with minimal risk of loss.
Role Context
The role sits within a team responsible for:
- Design, development, and performance management of digital and analogue products supporting [For Schools / Higher Education / Work] hypotheses.
- Ensuring the right product mix, quality, and scalability aligned with strategic direction in collaboration with Proposition Directors.
- Commercially viable, scalable, and technology-aligned products that meet customer needs.
Main Accountabilities
Content & Asset Management
- Collaborate with Learning Designers, Content Creation teams, and product managers to support secure storage, retrieval, and version control for English language learning and assessment assets.
- Apply appropriate metatags, use approved platforms, and control access permissions to minimise risks to British Council or third-party intellectual property.
- Assist in procurement and contracting with third-party asset suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual terms (e.g., usage types, impressions).
- Provide asset supply to internal teams for varied use cases.
- Monitor assessment items to maintain compliance with minimum security and health standards.
- Assist the Content and Asset Manager in promoting intellectual property best practices in the English & Exams (E&E) business.
- Ensure assets reflect the British Council’s equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) values, with considerations for accessibility and subject diversity.

- Monitor and report on:
- Project schedules and progress.
- Budgets (forecasted vs. actual costs).
- Resource allocation for asset-dependent projects.

- Adhere to approved tools and systems for activity monitoring.
- Support internal evaluation mechanisms to ensure effective publishing and security procedures.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Maintain clear, open communication with colleagues and external suppliers.
- Foster strong working relationships across dispersed teams and remote environments.
Leadership & Own Accountability
- Plan and prioritise tasks to deliver diverse responsibilities efficiently.

Language Requirements
- Written and verbal fluency in English.
Qualifications Required
Education
- First-degree or equivalent qualification (any discipline, but experience makes up for gaps).
Certifications (Desirable but not mandatory)
- Project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent).
Role-Specific Knowledge & Experience
Minimum Requirements (Essential)
- Experience in content/assets management for digital/print products (or test development).
- Full-time residency in UK or Poland with unlimited work authorization.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to professional ELT/educational publishing.
- Familiarity with English language teaching/assessment methodologies.
- Experience in coordinating, communicating, and collaborating with large, global teams in a remote setting.

- Annual Salary Range:
- PLN 96,000 – 120,000 (Poland)
- £25,000 – £26,900 (UK)
