Job Title: Online Content Manager, IDGA
Reports to: Marketing Director – Defence
Location: London, UK (Hybrid)

Established in 2001, Defence iQ and IDGA have grown to become one of the world’s largest defence events and media organisations. We are uniquely positioned to engage with and support the international defence community via our digital platform and global conferences, all of which are underpinned by rigorous research into global defence policy, acquisition strategy, capability development and military leadership.
We collaborate with government, military services, traditional and non-traditional defence industry, and academia who, by contributing to our events and publications, help us to generate thoughtful debate about the future of our industry.
Our objective is simply to provide our members, event attendees and industry partners with a hub of commentary and analysis on contemporary military strategy, defence acquisition, and technology development so that they can keep pace with rapid technological development, evolving threats and operational need across Air, Land, Maritime, Security and the Joint Domains. https://www.idga.org/

What You’ll Do
Content is central to our business expansion plans, and you’ll work closely with marketing, production and sales teams based in London and New York to grow our events and community.
As an experienced content writer, you will be responsible for managing and producing online content that addresses the challenges and goals of our IDGA audience. This includes generating exceptional content through your own research and engaging with industry stakeholders and influencers.
- Produce impactful content: Develop engaging articles, whitepapers, reports, interviews, and other digital content based on in-depth research and discussions with key industry influencers as well as innovating and trying new formats that wow our community.
- Collaborate for success: Work closely with event producers, marketing managers, and stakeholders to ensure content aligns with our commercial and community goals.
- Drive brand awareness: Represent our brand as a trusted voice on platforms such as LinkedIn and Twitter, building relationships with industry thought leaders and influencers.
- Manage content calendars: Take ownership of the content calendar, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content for our events and online community.
- Measure and optimise: Regularly review the performance of your content, using data-driven insights to optimise future projects and identify new opportunities.
- Contribute to growth: Collaborate with marketing and sales to maximize the impact of your content across campaigns, driving both event participation and community engagement.
- Relationship building: Build and nurture relationships with industry influencers, thought leaders, speakers, sponsors and community members to enhance brand credibility and authority.

What We’re Looking For
- Proven content creation experience: 3+ years’ experience preferred, with the ability to creatively convey technical information into accessible, engaging content
- Industry knowledge: Experience and excellent understanding of the U.S. defence industry, B2B publishing, conferences, events, exhibitions or a membership organisation
- Outstanding communication skills: Exceptional copywriting and editorial skills, with the ability to adapt your style for different audiences and formats.
- Social media savvy: Confidence in using LinkedIn, Twitter, and other platforms effectively to build your profile and the brand’s presence in the U.S defence industry.
- SEO/GEO expertise: Good understanding of SEO best practices to enhance visibility and drive organic growth through traditional search and LLMs.
- Collaborative mindset: A team player who can connect ideas, and outcomes whilst working effectively with a variety of departments and seniority levels across multiple locations.
- Strong organisational skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
