- Thrive in a live news environment, working on breaking news and to quick deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Be proactive — pitch ideas, be creative, bring your expertise to the table, and elevate our content.
- Be precise in sourcing content and creating elements for your work. We have an extensive internal library of video and images as well as multiple sources to obtain content from.
- Deliver your content to multiple destinations and be familiar with various digital platforms and metadata requirements that are crucial for digital success.
- Be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Be flexible with working hours to accommodate global production schedules and news events. Early mornings are a requirement, with your day starting as early as 4am and working nine-hour days.
- Work well under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment and be able to pivot and react as news events evolve.
- Be highly motivated, accurate, and detail-oriented in your work.
- Have strong communication skills and collaborate across the newsroom with producers, assignment desk editors, and journalists.
- Have solid news judgment and editorial knowledge to produce clips for digital and social platforms. You will be required to write headlines and social language.
- Work closely with the executive producer, show producers, and talent on segments.
- Support your show team and be able to fill in roles with schedule changes, as well as contribute to other shows and projects as editorial and production priorities require.
- Work with various programs throughout your shift, including the Bloomberg Terminal, editing software, newsroom programs, and distribution tools.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
