About Adlår
Adlår is a home heating company with a simple belief: people shouldn't have to compromise when it comes to the comfort of their home. We design and engineer complete air source heat pump systems around the homes and people they're for. The engineering matters enormously, but homeowners don't really want to think about heating systems. They want a warm home, reliable hot water, confidence in their running costs and a system they can trust to quietly do its job. Engineering is how we deliver it. Comfort is what homeowners experience. Confidence is what remains. We're now looking for a Content & Social Executive to help us tell that story.
The Role
This isn't a role for someone who just wants to sit behind a desk scheduling social posts. We're looking for someone who wants to create. You'll be out with our engineers and installers, visiting customers, filming real homes, photographing installations, interviewing homeowners and finding the interesting stories happening inside Adlår every week. You'll then turn those moments into high-quality content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and our wider marketing. You'll work closely with our Brand & Marketing Lead initially, but the opportunity is for you to progressively take ownership of Adlår's content and organic social operation. We want someone who can eventually go from being told "film this" to being the person saying "there's a story here."
What You'll Be Doing
- Around 60% of the role will be content production, including filming, photography, video editing, copywriting, graphics and storytelling. You'll take ideas from concept through to finished content and increasingly plan and execute shoots yourself.
- Around 25% will be organic social, taking day-to-day responsibility for our Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube channels. You'll manage the content calendar, publish content, create Stories, engage with our community, monitor performance and learn what works on each platform.
- The remaining 15% will support the wider marketing team, including website content, customer case studies, blogs, newsletters, paid-social creative, brochures, flyers and other branded materials.
- A big part of the role is making content work harder. One customer visit shouldn't result in one Instagram Reel. A great story could become a YouTube video, several short-form edits, photography, a LinkedIn post, customer case study, paid-social creative and an email feature.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For
We're much more interested in what you can make and how you think than how many years you've worked in marketing. You might already work in content or social media. You might be a videographer, photographer or creator looking to move into a brand. You could also be early in your career with university, freelance or personal work that shows genuine potential. We're looking for someone with:
- Strong creative instincts and an eye for a good story
- Experience filming and editing video content
- A good eye for photography, composition and visual detail
- An understanding of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube
- Clear, natural writing skills
- Confidence speaking to customers and colleagues
- Curiosity and a willingness to ask questions
- The initiative to spot opportunities without always waiting for a brief
- Good organisation and the ability to manage your own work
- A genuine desire to develop creatively and make better work over time
You also need to be comfortable getting away from your desk. Some of our best content exists in customers' homes, on installations and in conversations with the people doing the work. That's a fundamental part of this role.
What You Don't Need
You don't need to be a heat pump expert. You don't need years of experience in the heating industry, and we're not looking for someone who already knows everything about paid advertising, SEO, CRM or every area of digital marketing. We'll teach you about Adlår, our technology, our customers and the home-heating industry. What is much harder to teach is curiosity, creative judgement, initiative and the desire to make something genuinely good.
How We Think About Content
We don't believe better marketing simply means more marketing. We'd rather create one piece of content that's useful, memorable or beautifully observed than five pieces nobody would miss. Our creative work should feel calm, human, considered and confident.
- Real homes before showrooms.
- People before products.
- Stories before sales messages.
- Substance before attention. We're not interested in chasing every social-media trend because everyone else is doing it. We want to create content that makes people curious, helps them understand something and leaves them feeling more confident about Adlår.

The Opportunity
This is an important hire for us. You'll be joining while we're building our marketing capability, which means you're not stepping into a finished content machine and simply maintaining it. You'll have the opportunity to help build it. Initially, you'll learn the brand and work closely with our Brand & Marketing Lead. As you develop, we want you to start bringing your own ideas, identifying stories, planning shoots and taking greater responsibility for what we create. Ultimately, we want you to own the organic content operation – from identifying an opportunity through planning, capture, editing and publishing to reporting on what happened and making the next piece better. There is a natural progression from Content & Social Executive → Senior Content & Social Executive → Content & Social Manager / Brand Content Manager for someone who develops the capability to take that ownership.
Applying
Please send us your CV and examples of work you've actually created. We're particularly interested in seeing video, photography, social content, writing or personal creative projects. It doesn't all need to come from previous employment. University work, freelance projects and content you've created for yourself absolutely count. Alongside your application, tell us about one piece of content you've made that you're particularly proud of: what you were trying to achieve, why you made the creative choices you did and what you'd change if you made it again today. For this role, we'll look at your portfolio before we worry too much about your CV.
