About us
NCT is the national charity for pregnancy, birth, infant feeding and early parenthood. Our vision is simple: a society where everyone who becomes a parent feels confident, connected and safe. Through our For Every Parent strategy, we're working to make that vision a reality. We support parents with trusted information, practical help, local communities and a stronger voice in the issues that matter to families.
For 70 years, we've been by parents' sides through the excitement, uncertainty, wonder and challenges of becoming a parent. Today, our volunteers contribute more than 70,000 hours of community service each year, helping parents build friendships, find support and feel less alone. We educate and empower parents with evidence-based information and support. We advocate and act by listening to parents' experiences, raising their voices and campaigning for change. No judgement. No exceptions.
About the role
We're looking for a Content & Social Media Manager to lead NCT’s content production and social media activity, helping us connect with new and expectant parents through engaging, audience-focused content across our wide range of channels.
You'll be comfortable leading the Content Studio and developing high-quality content across video, email, web and other assets, while also taking ownership to manage NCT's social media channels, building engagement and identifying opportunities to jump on trends.
Working closely with colleagues across Marketing, Communications and Fundraising & Strategic Partnerships, you'll help bring marketing campaigns to life, support income-generating partnership activity and strengthen NCT's brand to ensure parents continue to see us as a trusted source of support throughout pregnancy and early parenthood.
You’ll work alongside and coach a Content & Social Media Officer, and enjoy blending hands-on delivery with strategic thinking. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where one day you might be developing assets and writing copy for a major campaign launch in a few weeks, and the next you’ll be producing social-first content reacting to a political announcement that day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you
We're looking for an experienced content and social media professional who is just as comfortable creating engaging content as they are managing social channels.

Whether you're writing copy, creating an infographic or spotting a reactive content opportunity, you'll know how to create content that resonates with audiences and supports organisational goals.
You'll bring hands-on experience and strategic thinking when it comes to managing social media accounts for a brand, charity or values-led organisation, along with a strong understanding of what works across different platforms. You'll enjoy working at pace, balancing BAU activity with reactive comms, and using data and insight to continually improve your work.
We're looking for someone who is creative, proactive and collaborative, with excellent attention to detail and a passion for our sector. You'll be excited by the opportunity to take ownership of a role that combines two of your passions, with the autonomy to shape, deliver and continuously improve NCT's marketing.
