Job Description: Content Team Lead

An ideal position for a calm, organised, and commercially aware individual who thrives at the centre of a fast-moving agency environment, with experience leading content delivery and developing people.

As Content Team Lead, you will be responsible for the overall direction, delivery, and performance of the Content Team within the Organic department, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard across an exciting array of clients.

You will have a strong and clear understanding of content, SEO, and how high-quality content contributes to organic performance. You will be comfortable combining hands-on content expertise with people management, resourcing, workflow management, and client communication.

You will be responsible for:

  • Line managing the content team
  • Supporting the team’s development
  • Maintaining delivery standards
  • Managing content pipelines
  • Improving workflows and documentation
  • Ensuring the team operates efficiently, sustainably, and profitably
  • Supporting strong client relationships and content strategy across accounts
  • Delivering a content service to clients

Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum 4 years of experience working in a content role, ideally within a digital marketing agency
  • Demonstrable experience managing, mentoring, or developing content writers, executives, or specialists
  • Experience creating, managing, and overseeing content plans and schedules across multiple clients
  • Experience producing and reviewing a range of content formats, including:
    • Landing pages
    • Blogs
    • Ecommerce copy
    • Social copy
    • Long-form guides
    • Campaign content
  • Confident line-managing team members, including:
    • Performance
    • Development
    • Progression planning
    • Structured feedback
  • Able to manage delivery issues, resourcing challenges, and shifting priorities in a clear and constructive way
  • Comfortable working closely with SEO, Digital PR, Social, Paid, and Creative teams to ensure joined-up content output
  • Very comfortable managing day-to-day client relationships through meetings, calls, and presentations
  • Able to use trend, consumer, keyword, and performance data to shape content recommendations
  • Experience leading content-specific onboarding, including tone of voice, messaging, and scope alignment
  • Knowledge or experience of working with CMS systems
  • An understanding of site analytics and research tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and similar
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong organisational and presentation skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to give and receive feedback in a constructive, kind manner
  • A keen and interested disposition and attitude
