Head of Professional Services – HR Sourcing: UK Benefits & Pensions

About the Role
Are you a visionary sourcing leader eager to transform how organisations attract, support, and develop their people? At Chain IQ, we’re seeking a bold, strategic HR Subject Matter Expert with deep UK Benefits expertise to join our Professional Services Sourcing team and redefine HR service delivery globally.
In this high-impact role, you won’t just manage sourcing initiatives—you’ll architect them. Your primary focus includes:
- UK Benefits (pensions, healthcare, wellbeing, flexible benefits)
- Learning & Development (training, education, upskilling programmes)
- Regulatory Compliance (Auto-Enrolment, FCA, UK employment legislation)
- Broader HR categories: Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Reward, and HRIS platforms
You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients to develop sourcing strategies that unlock value, drive innovation, and enhance operational performance. Are you ready to lead with impact, innovate with purpose, and grow with a global leader?
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partner Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Serve as a strategic advisor, translating business requirements into tailored sourcing strategies.
- Influence decision-making through commercial insight and market expertise.
Sourcing Strategy & Execution
- Lead complex, multi-regional sourcing projects, with a strong focus on UK Benefits and Pensions.
- Manage RFP/RFI processes, supplier evaluations, and selection across HR subcategories.
- Ensure alignment with organisational priorities and compliance standards.

Commercial Strategy & Deal Structuring
- Analyse financial models and cost scenarios to inform negotiations.
- Structure deals that balance commercial advantage with operational scalability and quality.
- Drive cost efficiencies without compromising service excellence.
Contracting & Compliance
- Draft and negotiate contracts, including MSAs, amendments, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and uphold regulatory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to UK employee benefits and pensions regulations, including:
- Auto-Enrolment requirements
- FCA-related considerations
- UK employment legislation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain contractual integrity.
Market Intelligence & Supplier Management
- Stay ahead of HR market trends, innovations, and regulatory changes.
- Monitor UK Benefits and Pensions landscape, supplier shifts, and industry developments.
- Manage supplier relationships to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Benchmark performance and drive supplier accountability.
Governance & Quality Standards
- Apply Chain IQ’s sourcing methodologies and tools rigorously.
- Contribute to category strategy development and process optimisation.
- Champion best practices in sourcing and procurement.
What You Bring
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (required) in Business, Supply Chain, Human Resources, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
Professional Experience
- Mandatory UK Benefits and Pensions expertise.
- Proven success in sourcing UK employee benefits (pensions, healthcare, risk benefits, wellbeing, flexible benefits) and other HR categories:
- Talent Acquisition
- Learning & Development
- Payroll
- Reward
- HRIS platforms
- Experience in high-value sourcing projects (multi-million-pound thresholds).
- Track record of advising HR stakeholders on:
- Benefits design
- Supplier capabilities
- Market trends
- Regulatory compliance

- Ability to build financial baselines and support data-driven decision-making.
Compliance & Technical Expertise
- Knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection for employee information.
- Deep understanding of UK pensions and employee benefits regulations, including:
- Auto-Enrolment
- The Pensions Regulator requirements
- Employment legislation
- Related governance frameworks
- Proficiency in:
- SAP Ariba
- Excel (advanced)
- PowerPoint
- Sourcing analytics tools

- Expertise in category strategy, market analysis, and sourcing execution.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder negotiation, and time management.
- Ability to prioritise competing demands while delivering high-quality outcomes.
