We're Hiring: Continuing Airworthiness (CAMO) Manager

CHC Helicopter is seeking an experienced Continuing Airworthiness leader to join our UK Leadership Team as Continuing Airworthiness (CAMO) Manager in Aberdeen.
Reporting to the Accountable Manager (Operations Director), the CAMO Manager leads the Aberdeen CAMO team and is the Nominated Person for Continuing Airworthiness for the Scotia AOC. This is a key leadership and regulatory role with direct responsibility for maintaining the highest standards of continuing airworthiness, safety and compliance across the operation.
About the Role
You will lead the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation, working across CHC to ensure the safe, compliant and effective management of the company fleet. You will provide strong technical leadership, make and oversee key airworthiness engineering decisions, and drive continuous improvement in CAMO processes, procedures and performance.
Working closely with Maintenance Planning, Part 145 organisations, subcontractors, design organisations, OEMs and internal stakeholders, you will ensure that continuing airworthiness requirements are effectively managed and that technical issues are resolved in a timely and robust manner.
You will also play an important role in developing the CAMO team, creating a collaborative environment and coaching and mentoring colleagues to build capability and deliver consistently high standards.
The successful candidate will be required to be acceptable to, and approved by, the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) as the Nominated Person for Continuing Airworthiness for the Scotia AOC.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Nominated Person for Continuing Airworthiness for the Scotia AOC and ensure compliance with UK CAA regulations, Part CAMO, the CAME, Department Work Instructions and relevant Safety & Quality requirements.
- Lead the CAMO team and manage continuing airworthiness activities, including subcontracted airworthiness activities.
- Drive the safety, airworthiness, reliability and performance of the company fleet.
- Oversee the analysis and processing of Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness, repairs, modifications and equivalent technical requirements.
- Manage the review and development of aircraft maintenance programmes and the analysis of reliability data.
- Provide and oversee airworthiness engineering decisions in liaison with Maintenance Planning, Part 145 organisations and subcontract organisations.
- Maintain effective fleet configuration control and support standardisation and compliance across the fleet.
- Ensure timely and effective responses to technical queries, HUMS-related issues and requests for aircraft configuration or maintenance/operating procedure changes.
- Liaise with design organisations and OEMs regarding modifications and other Part 21 design support.
- Host and support UK CAA visits, audits and aircraft owner inspections, and coordinate Management of Change activity for the Airworthiness organisation.
- Drive continuous improvement in CAMO processes, procedures and work instructions, while developing and supporting the team.

What You'll Bring
- A degree in aviation or a relevant engineering discipline, relevant technical experience gained in a civil or military environment, or a UK CAA/EASA Part 66 licence.
- Leadership or management experience, with the ability to lead, coach and develop a technical team.
- Experience in a base or line maintenance environment as a certifying member of a maintenance organisation, or relevant military experience as a certifying supervisor.
- Experience within continuing airworthiness, technical services or quality management.
- Excellent understanding of UK/EASA Part CAMO and Part 145 regulatory requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of engineering systems and processes, with sound technical judgement and a clear commitment to safety and compliance.
- Understanding of aviation contracting and subcontracting requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to present technical matters credibly to audiences with differing levels of technical knowledge.
- A collaborative, improvement-focused approach and the ability to lead change in a complex operational environment.
- Experience with aviation ERP systems such as AMOS, SAP, IFS, Helisoft or Rusada would be advantageous.

Eligibility
Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the UK.
You must hold a passport valid for international travel and be eligible to hold a UK/Aberdeen Airport airside pass.
