Continuous Improvement & Business Systems Manager

Aerospace & Defence Manufacturing | Operational Excellence | SAP | Data-Driven Improvement

Lead operational transformation through data, systems and Lean within one of the UK's most respected aerospace and defence engineering organisations.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Continuous Improvement & Business Systems Manager to join a globally recognised aerospace and defence manufacturer.

This is not a traditional shop-floor Lean role.

Instead, you'll lead data-driven operational improvement across Sourcing, Procurement and Supply Chain, using ERP systems, operational performance data and structured Continuous Improvement methodologies to improve business performance, simplify processes and strengthen operational governance.

We're looking for someone who combines Lean thinking with strong business systems, ERP and analytical capability, and who has developed their career within aerospace, defence or highly regulated engineering manufacturing environments.

The Opportunity

Working closely with senior leaders across Sourcing, Procurement, Engineering, Operations, Finance and Manufacturing, you'll identify improvement opportunities through operational data, challenge existing ways of working and deliver measurable improvements across business processes, systems and operational performance.

This is a highly visible role where you'll influence stakeholders across the organisation while managing and developing a Continuous Improvement Analyst.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives across Sourcing, Procurement and Supply Chain operations
  • Analyse ERP (SAP) data, operational KPIs and business performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities
  • Improve business processes, governance and operational workflows through data-driven analysis
  • Lead Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen workshops and structured problem-solving activities where appropriate
  • Develop KPI frameworks, dashboards, governance reporting and Continuous Improvement roadmaps
  • Drive operational improvements through systems optimisation, workflow redesign and process standardisation
  • Improve planning, material flow, supplier performance and sourcing processes
  • Work closely with Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing and Procurement teams to deliver measurable operational improvements
  • Coach operational teams in Continuous Improvement methodologies and best practice
  • Manage and develop the Continuous Improvement Analyst

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
