Continuous Improvement Manager

West Yorkshire | Food Manufacturing | £75,000 + Car Allowance & Bonus

Most Continuous Improvement Managers aren’t short of ideas.

They’re short of the authority, investment and support needed to make them happen. You won’t be here.

This is a senior, site-wide role within a large and complex food manufacturing operation that has ambitious improvement plans and significant investment behind them.

You’ll join the Site Leadership Team, lead three experienced CI professionals and have the visibility to influence decisions across the entire operation.

The foundations are already in place. Your job is to take them further.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

That means leading major improvement and automation projects, developing capability across the site and delivering measurable gains in productivity, cost, waste and efficiency.

It also offers somewhere to progress. The previous person in the role was promoted internally, and this position will give you exposure to senior leaders, substantial projects and wider opportunities across the business.

You’ll need:

  • A strong Lean and continuous improvement toolkit
  • Experience delivering change within a large, high-volume manufacturing site
  • Evidence of leading major projects with measurable commercial results
  • The credibility to influence everyone from the factory floor to senior leadership
  • A willingness to remain hands-on rather than simply manage the improvement plan

Food & drinks manufacturing experience would be ideal, although backgrounds including packaging and pharmaceutical manufacturing will be considered if the scale and complexity are comparable.

This is a full-time, site-based role with occasional travel to other UK locations.

If you’ve reached the point where you need more investment, influence and opportunity to make a genuine impact, this could provide all three.
