Contract Advisor – Offshore Wind

Location: Kingston upon Thames / Hybrid

Contract: Full-time Contractor

IR35: Outside IR35

Start Date: ASAP

Right to Work: UK candidates with full, permanent UK right to work only

Industry: Offshore Wind / Energy / EPC

We are currently supporting a leading global energy and engineering business with the appointment of a Contract Advisor to join their team in Kingston upon Thames. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced contracts professional with a background in offshore wind, offshore energy, subsea, EPC/EPCI or marine projects to play a key role across the commercial and contractual lifecycle of major projects.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Contract Advisor to support a major offshore energy business in Kingston upon Thames, working across client, partner, supplier and subcontractor agreements. You will be responsible for contract drafting, negotiation, contract management and risk assessment, working closely with Commercial, Legal and Project teams to protect the business and optimise contractual opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate client, partner, supplier and subcontractor contracts.
  • Identify and manage contractual and commercial risks.
  • Support contract negotiations and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure contractual obligations and risks are effectively flowed down through the supply chain.
  • Support Project Contract Managers and Commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with partner agreements, guarantees, bonds and contractual documentation.
  • Support Legal teams with disputes and potential litigation where required.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Contract Advisor, Contract Manager, Contracts Specialist or Commercial professional with a strong project-based background. Ideally, you will have experience in offshore wind, although candidates from offshore oil & gas, subsea, marine, offshore energy or EPC/EPCI environments will also be considered.

Key Requirements

  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation experience.
  • Knowledge of FIDIC, LOGIC and Incoterms.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and contractual risk.
  • Experience working with clients, partners, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Background in offshore, EPC/EPCI, subsea or marine projects.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Law degree or similar qualification desirable.
