Contract Agent

Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Contract Agent to join our Construction Delivery team based out of our Gamston Depot in Nottingham.

What you'll do:

  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Proactively manage health, safety, and environmental risks across all projects and team activities.
  • Control project costs, maximize profitability, and deliver strong financial performance.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to improve safety, quality, and operational performance.
  • Deputise for the Contracts Manager when required.
  • Develop and communicate detailed project plans and delivery programmes.
  • Manage the safe and compliant use of vehicles, plant, and equipment.
  • Coach and develop team members to enhance skills, performance, and career progression.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant project records are maintained throughout all stages of work.
  • Monitor KPIs, budgets, and productivity to optimise performance and deliver value for customers.
  • Lead employee performance, wellbeing, training, and workforce development activities.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and performance issues, implementing corrective actions and sharing lessons learned.

What we're seeking:

  • Level 3 qualification in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. NRSWA, SSSTS, Temporary Works Co-ordinator, CITB).
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations within civil engineering and construction.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Good understanding of construction plant, materials, and highway maintenance techniques.
  • Proven experience managing and planning construction or maintenance projects valued at £1m+.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience of cost control and financial management.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Full UK driving licence.
