Building Surveyor Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to work on a major project within a secure hospital site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a Mechanical & Electrical, Building Services, Facilities Management, Estates or Engineering background who understand asset tagging and surveying processes. The ideal candidate does not necessarily need previous asset tagging experience but must have a practical understanding of M&E equipment and be able to learn quickly.
The role will involve identifying, tagging, and recording mechanical and electrical assets. You will use digital systems and tablets to capture accurate asset information, including equipment details, locations, condition, and photographs.
If you aren't a Surveyor already, not a problem, our client would consider applicants with the below backgrounds:
- Plumber or Plumbing apprentice
- M&E Maintenance Engineer
- Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
- Building Services Engineer
- Facilities Maintenance Engineer
- M&E Asset Surveyor
Skills & Experience
- Must have Full Clean UK Driving License and Access to own vehicle
- Previous asset tagging, asset surveying or similar experience OR a relevant M&E/engineering background
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical building services equipment
- Experience within facilities management, maintenance, estates, engineering, surveying or a similar environment
- Confident using tablets, computers, and digital data-capture systems
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately and independently
- Enhanced DBS already held or willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check

Roles & Responsibilities
- Identify and accurately asset-tag mechanical and electrical equipment across the site
- Record asset details including make, model, serial number, location, and condition
- Capture photographs and upload accurate information using digital/CAFM systems
- Carry out systematic surveys across different areas of the hospital
- Follow site, security, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures
- Liaise professionally with Estates, Facilities, and hospital personnel

Contract until November 2026, Full-time, Monday–Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
