We are looking for an experienced Contract Controls Engineer who can independently perform PLC software modifications, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and documentation activities for retrofit projects in the UK.
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid permit or right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Minimum 8 to 9 years of experience in controls engineering and industrial automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal, including PLC software development, modification, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Good proficiency in Siemens STL (Statement List) programming language, including understanding and modifying existing code.
- Experience in retrofit, RMR, brownfield, modernization, or system-upgrade projects.
- Ability to understand existing control systems and handle assigned activities independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, testing, and validation skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Expected Responsibilities
- Review and modify existing PLC software using TIA Portal and STL.
- Perform PLC testing, I/O checks, commissioning, and site support.
- Diagnose faults and resolve control-system issues.
- Execute functional testing and validate software changes.
- Update software records, change logs, test results, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with site teams, customers, and project stakeholders.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in material handling, warehouse automation, conveyors, sorters, ASRS, airport, or distribution systems.
- Experience with Siemens HMI/SCADA systems and industrial communication networks.
- Previous experience with Vanderlande SSS library.
- Willingness to travel within the UK according to project requirements.
