We're working with a major technology-led organisation looking for an experienced Software Developer to join a high-performing engineering team responsible for a real-time, high-volume transactional platform.

This is a hands-on development role working across backend services, microservices, and data-intensive applications in an environment where performance, reliability, and scalability are critical. The core technology stack includes C#/.NET, Golang, and SQL Server, with the wider environment incorporating Windows applications, microservices, Kafka, Linux, and cloud/web technologies.

πŸ› οΈ What you'll be doing

  • Developing highly efficient, robust, and maintainable applications and backend services
  • Building and enhancing services using C#/.NET and Golang
  • Working extensively with SQL Server
  • Supporting and improving existing business-critical functionality
  • Working within a microservices architecture
  • Identifying technical improvements and contributing ideas for new solutions
  • Collaborating closely with Product Owners, Engineering, and Testing throughout delivery

🎯 Essential experience

  • Golang is mandatory for this contract. We are specifically looking for candidates with demonstrable commercial Golang development experience alongside:
    • Strong commercial C# /.NET
    • Strong MS SQL Server
    • Microservices architecture
    • Git/version control
    • Experience working with high-volume or data-intensive systems
    • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

The wider environment also includes Kafka, Linux, web/cloud technologies, and external data providers, so experience in these areas would be highly advantageous. WPF exposure would also be beneficial.

This would suit an experienced backend/software engineer who is comfortable operating in complex, performance-focused environments and can contribute quickly across both Golang and the Microsoft stack.
