Contract Development Designer (SolidWorks) IR35 Status: Out
Hourly – Circa £37 DOE
Contract Term – 3 months
Location – Hybrid based in Huddersfield
Join an industry leading, international brand implementation agency specialising in large-scale corporate identity rollouts and interior brand transformations. Operating globally, the group manages end-to-end design, project management, signage, and interior fit-outs for world-renowned brands across the automotive, financial, retail, and commercial office sectors (including BMW, JLR, HSBC, and Bupa).
Due to recent project wins, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contract Product Development Designer to join an established 3-person design team.

Acting as the vital link between concept design and pre-manufacture, you will transform initial design concepts into production-ready 3D SolidWorks models and practical engineering solutions for global rollouts.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to
- Engineer detailed 3D SolidWorks models, assemblies, and general arrangement drawings from supplied design concepts ready for prototyping and mass manufacture
- Develop cost-effective, multi-material components, focusing heavily on joinery, sheet metalwork, and signage
- Design bespoke and rollout interior solutions, including reception desks, barista bars, retail displays, POS units, store aisle end caps, promotional fixtures, and wall panelling
- Liaise with internal project managers and external manufacturing partners to resolve technical details and ensure smooth production handovers

Experiences required
- Advanced 3D modelling and assembly capabilities (SolidWorks 2024 or newer)
- Strong, hands-on technical understanding of Joinery and Metalwork (sheet metal, box/tube sections) combined with proven DFM experience
- Prior background in retail displays, commercial furniture, branded interiors, or POS fixtures
- Must supply your own Mobile CAD Workstation and SolidWorks Licence
