eCommerce Account Director | Retail Media

London | Hybrid, 1-2 days per week in Central London
6-month contract | £350 per day | Likely outside IR35
Start date: ASAP

We're supporting a leading global media agency looking for an experienced eCommerce Account Director to lead the planning and activation of on-retailer media campaigns for a major client.

This role will take ownership of retail media strategy across platforms including CitrusAd, Criteo, and Amazon, using data and insights to develop effective plans that drive measurable commercial results.

The role

You'll lead the delivery of client work across retail media planning, buying, and activation while managing senior client relationships and guiding the wider account team.

You'll also act as a subject matter expert across Tesco retail media, helping shape strategy, forecasting spend, and identifying opportunities to improve campaign performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead retail media planning and activation across CitrusAd, Criteo, and Amazon
  • Develop strategies based on client objectives, audience insights, and performance data
  • Oversee Tesco retail media activity and provide strategic recommendations
  • Manage senior client, partner, and internal stakeholder relationships
  • Lead media spend forecasting, campaign planning, and performance optimization
  • Run client workshops and contribute to wider strategic planning sessions
  • Ensure retail media is integrated across the wider marketing strategy
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, delivery, and client performance
  • Support the development and testing of commerce solutions with partners such as Skai
  • Lead and develop a collaborative, high-performing account team

Experience required

  • Strong experience planning and buying on-retailer media campaigns
  • Hands-on knowledge of CitrusAd, Criteo, and Amazon advertising platforms
  • Experience forecasting media spend and measuring campaign performance
  • Strong understanding of retail media strategy and the wider eCommerce landscape
  • Confidence working with complex data and turning it into clear recommendations
  • Strong client leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Previous agency or client-side retail media experience
  • Tesco retail media experience would be highly beneficial
  • Experience with Skai and PacVue would be a bonus
